| May 12 Shoot |
| There were six shooters at the Saturday shoot.
Special welcome to a new shooter, Murderous Mitch and a special welcome
back to Hillbilly Bob. They shot seven (yes 7) stages and everyone
had a great time. I am working on getting the scores posted but am
trying something new. Please be patient. After the
shoot final plans were made for the annual match on June 9th. Work days have been scheduled for 5 PM on June 1. Once we see how much progress we make that evening, we can set a start time for the next day, Saturday, June 2nd. Work days have also been scheduled for June 7-8, so we can get all the grass cut and the range trimmed so it looks it best. We can also finish up any little things that need doing. Just a couple more things: Please bring lawn chairs, canopies for shade and fans if you can. A generator will be available. Ladies are requested to bring a covered dish. If you have questions about what kind of dish to bring, contact Buckshot Baby. Also, we will be shooting 7 stages for the annual match - not six. The new stage should be a lot of fun for everyone. |
| April 14 Shoot |
| We had seven shooters and everyone had a great time. Special welcome to Iron Justice and his son from Oklahoma. We hope you come back and shoot with us soon. The weather cooperated until we started the 6th stage then the rain started so we called it quits. Also a special thanks to Mrs Choupique who kept score for us. Sorry for the lack of pictures but the camera battery was dead. We had a lot of good camaraderie and banter. |
| March 31 Rimfire Shoot |
| Although the posse was not large, those attending our first rimfire shoot had a great time. Special thanks to Tightwad Swede and Miss Sherry (?) for coming all the way from the Ozark Posse in Cassville. Hope you had a good time and hope you come back soon. |
| March 10 Shoot |
| We had a beautiful spring day for a shoot. It
was sunny with the high in the 60's. We had 10 shooters and
everyone had a great time. Pictures are on the
Pictures page. Hillbilly Bob and his dad stopped by to offer encouragement and enjoy the day. We put Bob to work on the Unloading table. He is doing very well after his surgery and hopefully he will be able to shoot soon. Ozark Slim, was able to join us again to shoot after a long absence. We were glad to see him and enjoyed his company. Arkansas Tom, from the White River Gang shot with us today and did a great job. He is always fun to shoot with. Following the shoot, we had a short business meeting. We approved buying a 4x8 sheet of 1/2 inch steel for new targets. Kerman Kid offered to donate a second sheet. We appreciate his generosity. Uncle Sam and Ozark Shootist made a list of materials needed to upgrade stage #2. We really appreciate all their hard work. The White River Gang (and Twin Lakes Gun Club) is having a shoot on the 5th Saturday of June to benefit the Wounded Warriors program. Since this is such a worthwhile charity, we decided to cancel our shoot that day so all members could attend the benefit. We hope to have a large posse attend. More details will be posted as they become available. |
![]() Thanks to everyone who came out today. See you in April. |
| February 11 Business Meeting |
| We had a good turnout to help make plans for 2012.
Here are some of the highlights: 1. Junior members (age 15 and younger) will now shoot free at all regular monthly shoots. 2. Stage 2 will have the floor rebuilt. 3. Stage 5 will be replaced. 4. As time and money allows, new larger targets will be aquired and installed. 5. Changes have been made to the 5th Saturday schedule. See the Schedule page for details. 6. Membership dues will remain unchanged - $25/single member, $35/family membership. |
| We also made plans for the Annual Shoot to be held on June 9th. Check the 2012 Annual Shoot page. |
| February 11 shoot
Cancelled Because of cold weather |
|
The officers have cancelled the February 11 shoot because of the
forecast cold weather.
Maybe we will have better luck in March. We will still have our business meeting at 3:30 PM at Roy's Store in Dora, MO. We need your input to plan your club's activities for 2012. We also need to plan our June 9, Annual Shoot. See you there!!! |
| New Year's Day, January 1, 2012 "Start the Year Off with a Bang" |
||||
|
We had a great New Year's Day Cowboy shoot and we really started the
new year off with a bang. The temperature was pleasant (53) but the
wind was brutal. It gusted as high as 38 mph.
...That
made it feel quite chilly on Shadow Ridge. We had nine shooters and
everyone had a great time. Did the wind affect us, you ask? Well,
someone said they missed the target and the wind was so strong it
turned the bullet around and it hit the back of the target. A hit is
a hit. Everyone had fun. Thanks to all who attended.

The New Year's Day shoot was definitely a success. We are planning another for January 1, 2013. See you there!! |
